Stopgap was founded in 1985 by Mick and Valerie Loftus with John Maxwell. Mick was a publicity man for Thames Television, Val was an art studio manager and John was a deputy head teacher.
From 1983 to 1998 we performed regularly at Chiswick Town Hall
and Chiswick is still where we meet and rehearse.
Since 1998 our home has been the intimate upstairs theatre at Isleworth Public Hall, South Street TW7 7BG.
Seating is at tables and our audiences can relax with drinks, snacks and delicious home-made cakes from the popular licensed bar within the auditorium. Current ticket price: just a tenner.
We may not see you there for a while. But, coronavirus or no,
in November 2020 we will definitely be marking Mick's 40th year
as a theatre director, almost exclusively for Stopgap.
